Live, work and play at the Savanna Depot Park and the adjoining 9,400-acre Lost Mound Refuge. US Fish and Wildlife Service has developed hiking trails that lead to the water and has opened a wildlife observation deck overlooking the Mississippi River. Eagle watching, stargazing and wildlife photography are popular activities at Lost Mound and nearby Mississippi Palisades State Park.

Rail fans flock to Savanna Depot Park. A railroad museum and archives preserve the history of the Rock Island Railroad. The Savanna Army Depot and Military Museum located on-site delights history buffs, educators and former employees.

Tenants of the Savanna Depot Park include research and development companies, a short-line railroad with access to the BNSF mainline, a rail car maintenance company, and warehousing in addition to many more businesses.

The charming local communities of Savanna, Hanover, Thomson, Mt. Carroll, and Galena feature a variety of activities and offer a diverse, skilled workforce.
